Job Title: HSSE Manager

Salary: £68K + benefits.

Location: Sunderland.

Are you a seasoned HSSE professional looking for a new challenge? My client is seeking a HSSE Manager to lead safety initiatives and ensure compliance within our project.

Role:
As the HSSE Manager, you will play a critical role in overseeing safety and environmental requirements for our project. You will lead efforts to create a positive safety culture and ensure all operations meet regulatory standards.

Responsibilities:
- Manage HSSE aspects throughout project execution and operations.
- Develop and maintain HSSE documentation including Health and Safety Plans, Fire Plans, and Environmental/Waste Management Plans.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Review safety procedures and provide feedback to contractors.
- Conduct regular safety audits and generate monthly HSSE reports.
- Chair collaborative HSSE meetings to promote a team-based approach to safety.
- Communicate with UK authorities on HSSE matters.
- Assess contractor plans and risk assessments.
- Investigate incidents and implement robust Permit to Work systems.
- Oversee security arrangements provided by contractors.

Requirements:
- Proven experience in HSSE management within the Chemical Process/Energy sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation and best practices.
- NEBOSH/IOSH qualifications (preferably to diploma level).
- Experience working on multi-discipline construction sites.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
