Arriva is part of the German-owned Arriva group, a leading public transport provider across Europe. Its UK arm operates a range of services from trains and waterbuses to buses and coaches; it is one of the leading transport operators in the UK. Its expansion over many years has seen it grow to include a number of storied regional operators across the country, the heritage of which the brand still honours.
DMA were appointed by the HR Director for Arriva Midlands, to recruit four General Managers. We took a targeted, regional approach, applying criteria which was not industry-specific but instead focused on sourcing strong General Managers with union experience within a blue-collar work force in a similar Engineering and Transport sector. Operating on a retained approach, we shortlisted and placed all four General Managers. Since that initial engagement, DMA have gone one to recruit a number of other permanent members of staff for Arriva that fall across all of their business specifics – Engineering Managers, Head Office Functions, Buyers, Operational Staff and Sales professionals.
