HIPPO aims to be the most trusted rubbish clearance brand in the UK. Founded in 2002, the company has grown exponentially since, reaching its one millionth collection in 2012. Its famous HIPPOBAGs are now supplemented by traditional skip hire, and with a five-star rating on Trust Pilot they are fulfilling their main goal of winning the trust of everyone in Britain looking for whatever reason to undertake rubbish clearance. Waste collection is the company’s end product, of course, but that requires a huge emphasis of fleet, transport and operations, too.

DMA were engaged by HIPPO’s Managing Director and Operations Customer Service Director, and we opened a conversation about how we might assist them in filling a number of key roles for their senior management team: Retail Sales Manager, Business-to-Business Sales Manager, Contract Manager and Head of Operations and Head of Transport. We spent time with the key decision makers, really getting to grips with the culture of the business – and DMA successfully placed all candidates for the key roles. We undertook this work on a Retained Assignment basis, with the commitment from the outset and the retainer being deducted from the fee. We’re proud to say that we have also been involved with HIPPO recruiting middle management and sales roles for the business on a contingency agreement.
