What we expect you to do
As part of a busy Sales team you are responsible for driving the business forward through identifying, sourcing and securing new business through the tendering process and face to face appointments with corporate clients within your designated sector.
The Senior Corporate Development Manager will pro-actively and re-actively sell profitable new business, targeting corporate and national accounts within your sector.
You will prospect for potential opportunities, build new customer portfolios, increase sales and identify regional and national corporate account opportunities.
You will put your proven sales expertise and considerable initiative to best deliver a solid pipeline of prospects selling waste management services.
Consistently achieve or exceed KPI’s including annual new business revenue targets
You will build and develop a sales pipeline of lucrative opportunities, you will do this through taking the lead role in opening and developing relationships with prospective corporate clients
Working with the Bid Manager you will be actively involved in the management of the tender process from PQQ through to ITT submissions
You are responsible for managing professional bids from the initial sales phase through to closure and mobilisation
You will create effective tailored sales solutions to corporate accounts and present them effectively through the structured tender process, in writing, verbally and through formal presentations
You need to be able to recognise clients waste management needs whilst providing appropriate commercial solutions, using your developed sales skills to sell our services with a strong emphasis on service, benefits and solutions
As part of your role you will be required to provide supporting information, including statistics, pricing information and market knowledge as required to assist in the sales process.
Ensure that the Hub is kept up to date with sales activities, by accurate data entry and the management of daily activities and diary events.
You will provide weekly/monthly sales reports on your personal performance and effectiveness.
Work closely with key internal stakeholders to ensure new business priced competitively, integrated smoothly and managed efficiently
You will manage your workload to ensure that you are able to complete and deliver compelling writing for bids that are assigned to you.
Empower, lead and motivate your team by supporting, advising and continually training each team member to ensure that your team provides outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
Conduct monthly one to ones and weekly team meetings to support team members & provide training to ensure excellent customer service is delivered at all times
Hold annual appraisals for all team members and implement any training requirements that are discussed.
Set team & individual targets and continually monitor and report to the Sales Director on team performance, implement strategies to improve the effectiveness of the team & individuals.
Prepare an informative & useful departmental monthly report by the set deadline for the Management Meeting.
Represent your department in internal and external meetings, showing an understanding of the needs of the customer, your department and the business as a whole.

Fantastic relationship builder – you will have the ability to build strong relationships, with our network of suppliers and the departments that you will work with specifically, Accounts, Logistics and Supply Chain

You will have:
The ability to demonstrate a successful track record in regional, commercial and key account sales positions
A working knowledge of H&S regulations and UK Waste Legislation
Been a key player in effective team
Achieved GCSE Grade C in Maths & English
Advance level IT skills, being able to use Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Pride in your role and will be well presented, eloquent and professional
Having the ability to drive and motivate yourself, you will be results-orientated with a positive outlook and clear focus on high quality customer service and business profit
The ability to forward plan and be able to critically analyse your own performance
The ability to work under pressure and to strict targets and deadlines
You will also have
Experience working with third parties. Must come from a Waste Management or Facilities Management background
