Exciting Opportunity: Trading Manager – Waste Management

Location: Remote

Salary: £50k- £65k plus Car/Allowance and bonus

Are you experienced in the recycling industry, buying and selling recycling commodities?  We are seeking a Trading Manager with a strong commercial mindset to drive the purchase and sale of materials.

Role:

The purpose of our customer trading function is to optimise the quality of material and value for commodity sales and to ensure evidenced compliance from producer to processor.

• Trading of all paper, fibre products and plastics for export markets or brokerage for onward sale
• Maximisation of trading revenue and profit
• The support of rebate system for all recycling rebated customers that flexes the rebate with movements in markets and enables constant and consistent review
• Work closely with all internal operations, customers and external trading partners to ensure that all recycled material presented for off-take is in line with quality expectations
• Development of Broker/Trader audit process

Ideal candidate:

• Experience in the waste and recycling industry with strong commercial acumen.
• Knowledge of recycled commodity grades and values
• Strong negotiation skills.
• The ability to build and maintain effective working partnerships.
• Able to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Confident in working with internal / external stakeholders.
